Labels were created so shippers and merchants could more easily identify what was in the crates. Labels featured a wide range of designs: fruitan orange, lemon, apple, strawberry or other producewas usually depicted on the label, but not always. In the late 1950's labels were no longer used because pre-printed boxes replaced the older wooden crates. Fruit Crate Labels 2012 features selections from the extensive collection at the Smithsonian Institution. Each month in this calendar features a colorful label and generously sized grid with moon phases and international holidays. There are sections at the back of the calendar to record emergency contact information and birthdays/anniversaries and a full-page 3-year at-a-glance.
